I am sorry to say that our next issue will be our last and we are no longer reading submissions.

For 13 years, artisan has been able to provide opportunities for many good new writers to be published. We feel the prevalence of electronic/online publishing has taken the urgency out of the need for small literary magazines. In addition, it takes untold hours of volunteer time and personal resources to produce a quality small press journal, and it never quite pays for itself. It is truly a labor of love.

While we are sad that it's time to move on, we're very glad we got to read the work of so many, and that the creative urge to write is still alive and well.

Thank you for your interest in artisan and best wishes in your creative endeavors.
